It's trekking season 2019, and trekkers are starting to make their way to Kathmandu before heading off to Lukla to start the most exciting journey of their lives.
On the map below is the route they, and perhaps you, will be following. Flying from Kathmandu into Lukla, a tiny STOL airport (Short take off and landing, and believe me it is short!) perched high - 2840m, on the hillside and, from there in the days to come, slowly but surely make their way through Namche Bazar, and all the way up through the Khumbu valley to Everest Base Camp. A journey of some eight or nine days depending on whether or not you stop for some acclimatisation on the way.
These are some of the sights you might see on your way there. We hope you hope you enjoy this incredible journey.
